About Johnston Casuals.
For over 40 years, Johnston Casuals has been dedicated to crafting contemporary American furniture. Our story is rooted in a rich family tradition of manufacturing, now led by third-generation owner and president, Joe Johnston.
Joe’s grandfather began the family’s legacy by making bedroom furniture in the 1920s, a business that would later become American Drew. Following in his family’s footsteps, Joe established a metal factory in 1980, which evolved into the Johnston Casuals brand we are today.
We understand that designers and their clients seek furniture that is not only functional but also a unique expression of their style. Each piece from Johnston Casuals is more than just furniture; it’s a work of art. As Joe puts it, “I like to think our welders are artists. This is not like putting a steel bridge together. There are no 90-degree angles... back posts are bent five to six different ways.”
Our process begins with raw steel tubes, bars, and sheet stock. From there, our skilled artisans cut, fabricate, weld, and assemble each piece. After applying a durable powder-coat finish, we add a seat or glass top, then carefully package the finished product for shipment across the United States and around the world.
At Johnston Casuals, we do not maintain a finished goods inventory. Every item you see on our factory floor is being made to order for a specific customer. This ensures that when you choose Johnston Casuals, you receive a truly unique piece, built just for you.
